I will nod acknowledgement of hearing Sven's words, but I am still not here for anyone, but my friend. If I had it my way, I would turn tail and head to the nearest inn and drink me problems away. I will stick close to Jigimy, regardless of what the others do. I am tired of having someone direct our comings and goings, but will aid Jigimy on his adventure.

"good plan - although i would suggest that we should change the marching order. perhaps one of us two should take the rear in order to protect the others against ambush from the back.

the rest is okay for me."

"That is an excellent idea. I had Korm act as our rear guard when Mant and I travelled to the inn with Mant's family, Rotfoot and the mercinaries. So, are you volunteering to bring up the rear? Or would you like to arm wrestle for the honor? The winner guards the front and the loser protects the rear?"

Jigimy listens as the two discuss strategy. As Sven finishes up, Jigimy chimes in...

"So, you two need someone to officiate this arm wrestling match?"

He looks around to the others...

"Would anyone care to lay some wagers on one of these two behemoths?"

I'm just a lumberjack", Path replies drily. "But, I guess I'm probably the best 'scout' you'll find around here now..."

Path scratches behind his ear while looking at the beargopher. He's standing right next to Sven. A frown forms on his brow. "Sven, I don't think it's smart to take it with us. Just leave it. At any rate, don't make any decisions without thinking them through.", he mutters, all the while trying to find out if the bear is dangerous or not. ((Sense Motive))

Path drops his backpack to take his bow. He sheathes his sword and hangs his bow at his waist. Having his bow underneath his backpack is quite dumb, he realised, so he's now putting it somewhere more in reach.

"Aw, I thought the match would be fun. Of course, I probably would have become depressed if I lost. Why don't we take turns. I will go up front now, but each time we take a break on our march, we switch positions when we start going again. That way neither of us gets bored with the same view..."

"Do you think he will bring us trouble, then? I thought he was cute and had been thinking of taking him along. He looks like he might be someone's pet that was left behind accidently. Perhaps even the Baron of Glendower's. We might get a reward for returning him if we reach the Baron's camp before they leave this morning."

[Is the bear-gopher small enough to be man-portable (ie. to carry)?]

"The question is not: why shouldn't we trust him? The question is: why should we? Besides, pets don't have waraxes.", Path notes.

If I have any of the meat left from the Maiden's Rest Inn, I will offer it to him.

The small creature obviously rejoices when Sven offers some of your flesh rations to it. Throwing its axe away, it sits down and instantly devours whatever you bring along.

It's mouth full of the meat, it points one of its thick fingers on it's chest and mumbles:

"Bobby."

Watching the small one eat, you get the impression that this being could indeed just have sprung out of a craddle - for sure, it's a child. A baby, maybe.

Unintentionally, Path will have smile about that little fellow. Indeed, this small, helpless creature looks like a pet or a mascot, for, trully, it seems rather dull and weak - although also cute in some way... Certainly, it seems more afraid of you than you seem to have to be afraid of it.

Back away, from where Mant stands, Jigimy hears a short and rather silly laughter... The firstsounds coming from the crazed nobleman for days.

When the little monster has finished with the meal, it stands up and theatrically bows before you.

Then it does something you certainly haven't foreseen: On its hairy feet, it teeters over to where Draussa stands, and before she can defend herself from this unforeseen attack, hugs her! (Which may look pretty funny, since the small bear is about half of Draussa's size.)

From Draussa:

Since I have been in my wallowing self-pity for a while, it shocks me a little that this creature wakes me out of my walking slumber....

I don't envelope the creature at first, just allowing it to hold on to me, but after a little bit of rolling my eyes and glancing at the others' reactions, I warm up and pat its back uncomfortably, "Ah......I am Draussa......Bobby.....er.....are you hurt at all?"

"Ha, ha, ha. Draussa, it looks like you have been chosen! Bobby seems to think you are someone special. Perhaps you should take care of him for the time being."

"Let's get going, before we miss our chance to catch the Baron. Path, we will follow you if you are ready to get going."

"Alright then.. Keep him... But I'm not explaining anything when we meet his mother or something. Not my problem."

With that, Path begins walking towards the road West asking in a loud voice:"Why would we want to catch up with the guy who did this anyway?"

I will follow Path after waiting for him to go about 10-15 paces. As I walk I will get my heavy crossbow out and get it ready for use, carrying it over my shoulder.
